THERE WERE TWO HUGE THINGS I LEARNED AT APPLE WHICH I WILL NEVER FORGET. THE FIRST THING IS HOW TO WRITE COMPLEX TECHNOLOGICAL INFORMATION SO SIMPLY THAT A CHILD CAN UNDERSTAND IT. THE SECOND IS TO WRITE IN A WAY THAT IS ENJOYABLE FOR EVERY CULTURE AND EVERY DEMOGRAPHIC.
THE EMAIL BELOW IS AN EXAMPLE OF BOTH. THIS COPY, LIKE THE IPAD ITSELF, NEEDS TO ACHIEVE AND COMMUNICATE A LOT, YET REMAIN EXTREMELY SIMPLE. THIS EMAIL ALSO ADDS AN ENJOYMENT TO THE SET UP PROCESS THAT IS NOT CULTURE-SPECIFIC.
